First National Bank

About Us

Our History

Founded on September 8, 1945, First National Bank was the vision of three businessmen who sought to bring the stability of a national bank to Lansing, Illinois.  Led by William P. Murray and Carl A. Kleihege the bank started as First National Bank of Lansing.  They believed that serving the needs of the community was the right path.

As the bank grew to serve more communities south of Chicago, the name was changed to First National Bank of Illinois to reflect our growing commitment to each community we served.  Most recently, the name was changed to First National Bank as we have grown to serve communities in Indiana as well.

Today, First National Bank is directed by the second and third generations of the original founders – solidifying the commitment of these families to serving the community with quality products and outstanding service.
